Steve Madden is no stranger when it pertains to ripping off designs. Back in 2016, the new York-based fashion brand released a sneaker that looked exactly like the Yeezy improve 350. Now, three years later, they’re up to their old tricks again by dropping a pair of basketball shoes that look exactly like the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 and the Off-White x Air Jordan 1.
Dubbed the ‘Malone’, both shoes feature a high top construction and utilise Jordan Brand’s signature colour blocked aesthetic throughout, with the first pair being painted in La Flame’s earthy brown palette and the second dipped in Virgil Abloh’s legendary ‘Chicago’ colourway.

Madden has also copied Off-White’s deconstructed look, with visible stitching and technical verbiage throughout. With all that said, they clearly wanted to avoid a lawsuit, so they’ve replaced Nike’s famous Swoosh with their own star logo.
If for whatever reason you want to cop Steve Madden’s “inspired” Malone sneakers, they’ve available now. This kind of phenomenon, while looked down on, is exceptionally common in the industry, and it all boils down to intellectual property law and how fashion designs can’t be patented. let us know what you think of this, and make sure you keep it locked at The Sole vendor for much more news as it develops!
